I hope you enjoy the tales as much as I have.

The most popular breed to train.

Friday 13 November 2015 at 1:12 pm. Used tags: ,

I was asked the other day by one of my clients what was the most popular breed that we train. Labs are the most prolific breed but then it is the most popular breed in the country (U.K.) so not too much of a surprise there.

However, Staffies are the second most popular breed that we train, yet they’re certainly not the second most popular breed in the country. It took me a while to figure out why. Truth be told, there are more Staffies than ever in rescue shelters so there are many people who are rehoming Staffies, but once they get them home they realise they're not too sure how they work. ;~}

However, as I never cease to tell clients, Staffies are probably the easiest breed to train because they have an innate desire to please their owners so once the right motivational tool is found, they’ll happily do anything for their owners.

It’s just a matter of establishing some boundaries & a little respect. Then tap into a Staffie's fun loving personality & you’ll see one of the happiest & most relaxed dogs known to man!

I used to visit people’s homes as part of my job (before their child came to nursery) I met lots of dogs of all shapes and sizes, I never once met an unsociable staffy. They were all loving friendly dogs who just wanted to sit on your knee and have their tummies tickled. People don’t know what to do with them as they see them as status dogs. All dogs need time and patience you don’t give up on your children so why would you give up on your pets. #pets for life #dontbullymybreed

They really are a misunderstood breed, often even by their owners. ๐Ÿ˜œ

Ironically, they’re one of the daftest breeds as you mention as all they really want to do is please their owner…. & have some fun. ๐Ÿ˜‹

Thanks for posting.
